Fork the Law
Analyzing and improving computer abuse law
“It’s hard for me to address ‘technology and the law’ as a single field. I see it as an intersection of two fields. Then again, the nature of technology is that it may be applied to any field; but to be applied effectively, you must have a deep understanding of that field. I think a big challenge with this particular interaction is how relatively new the intersection is. There is a lot of room for growth, but I think there needs to be a lot more understanding of the two fields before the union becomes mature. But from my perspective, this opens up a lot more opportunity for innovation and increased efficiencies. As a woman at this intersection right now, it is very exciting, having come from a more traditional technical role. I find a tremendous amount of support from both sides, as unlike other more established focus areas, there aren’t the traditional values that make it challenging for women to engage and excel.”
