Suit Claims Chiropractor’s 800 Number Used to Refer Cases to Law Firm
A Kentucky law firm that touts its “aggressive attorneys” is facing two lawsuits claiming it improperly accepts cases from an 800-number referral line operated by a Florida chiropractor.
The latest suit filed against Louisville firm Winters & Yonker seeks the return of attorney fees under Kentucky ethics rules that bar referrals in return for anything of value, the Louisville Courier-Journal reports. The complaint claims a caller who dialed 1-800-ASK-GARY was told to go to a Louisville medical office, where the law firm signed him up as a client.
A suit filed in February makes similar claims, the story says. The law firm also has offices in Florida.
