Slate for 2024-2025 term announced by ABA Legal Ed Section
The ABA Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar has announced its 2024-2025 council slate.
David A. Brennen is slated to serve as the next council chair of the section during the 2024-2025 term.
Brennen, a professor and a former dean at the University of Kentucky J. David Rosenberg College of Law, will replace Judge Bridget Mary McCormack, a 2021 ABA Journal Legal Rebel and a retired Michigan Supreme Court chief justice, according to a web announcement from the section’s Nominating Committee. Brennen previously served as the council’s vice-chair and chair-elect.
The slate will be presented during the 2024 ABA Annual Meeting on Aug. 2 in Chicago, according to the web announcement.
In addition, Daniel Thies, currently vice-chair of the council and a partner at Webber & Thies, is slated as chair-elect. Justice Melissa Hart of the Colorado Supreme Court is slated for vice-chair. Both are one-year terms.
Leah Chan Grinvald, the dean and a professor at the University of Nevada at Las Vegas William S. Boyd School of Law, is the only new member-at-large slated. That post has a three-year term.
Christiana Burnett, a 2L at the University of Chicago Law School, is slated for a one-year term as the council’s Law Student Division member.
