An Indiana divorce lawyer was allegedly targeted in a murder plot because she tried to help a client collect money owed in a divorce settlement by the client’s ex-husband.

Now the Florida mother and son accused of plotting to kill attorney Rebecca Eimerman and sitting in a vehicle outside her Noblesville home last month with a gun and a syringe of anesthesia are on the lam, according to the Associated Press, the Indianapolis Star and WRTV.

Arrested outside Eimerman’s home after her husband spotted them and called police, Renee Perillo, 51, and Richard Perillo, 21, were originally facing lesser charges and their bonds were set at $20,000.

An affidavit in the Hamilton County case says the bond for the Perillos was paid by Dr. Arnaldo Trabucco. He is the ex-husband of the client for whom Eimerman has been trying to get the divorce settlement paid. Trabucco is also reportedly the boyfriend of Renee Perillo.

Mother and son were no-shows at a Friday court hearing and are being sought by authorities. They now face charges including conspiracy to commit murder.

A woman answering Trabucco’s phone said he has an infection and is in critical condition in a hospital intensive care unit, the IndyStar reported, though she declined to specify which hospital.

Eimerman and a court-appointed lawyer for the Perillos either could not be reached by news organizations or did not respond to requests for comment..
