Lewis Brisbois Is Flooded with Top-Notch Job-Seekers
Los Angeles-based law firm Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith sees at least one new resumé every day, and the firm is attracting graduates of top law schools—despite its $85,000 starting pay.
“It’s good to be a hiring partner at Lewis Brisbois,” writes Legal Pad. Los Angeles partner John Barber tells the blog that the firm has never seen so many top-quality applicants.
“I have interviewed individuals laid off from Latham, Paul Hastings—and we’re talking about firms whose compensation structure is at some levels almost double ours,” Barber said.
He said associates get a chance to go to court and meet clients, and their pay depends in part on how well they generate business. “Those that are truly excellent receive a very competitive pay,” he said.
Lewis Brisbois was in the news in January, when it opened an Atlanta office.
