Once a famed personal injury lawyer, “master of disaster” Stan Chesley lost his Kentucky law license last year and was ordered last month to help pay, along with other disbarred attorneys, about $25 million owed to hundreds of former clients in fen-phen diet drug litigation.

Now another would-be judgment creditor is getting in line to try to collect an additional $122,508—a law firm that served as co-counsel in an unrelated class action with Chesley and his Cincinnati firm, according to the Courier-Journal.

Weber & Rose, which is based in Louisville, filed a motion Tuesday seeking a default judgment in a in Jefferson Circuit Court case filed in August.

Last year, a $153 million settlement was reached in the Washington class action, which included $29 million in attorney fees. However, the settlement wasn’t approved by the court until last week, so the money hasn’t yet been distributed, attorney Bill Markovits tells the newspaper. He stepped into Chesley’s shoes when the now-former attorney had to bow out of the case.
