Gordon & Rees is opening two new offices on Nov. 1, in Columbus, Ohio, and Wheeling, West Virginia.

Initially staffed with six partners from the firm’s office in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the Columbus office will be the firm’s first in Ohio, according to Columbus Business First.

However, there may soon be more lawyers there: Gordon & Rees will be “actively looking for lateral transfers resident in Columbus,” said Manoj Jegasothy. He will serve as co-managing partner in Columbus, and is also managing partner of the Pittsburgh office, co-managing partner of the firm’s existing office in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and will be co-managing partner of the new Wheeling office.

There will be about 12 lawyers in the Wheeling office, including Jegasothy, a Gordon & Rees news release says.

The Pittsburgh office opened in 2012 with seven lawyers, Jegasothy told the Am Law Daily, and the firm now has 38 in Pittsburgh and Harrisburg.

Founded in San Francisco in 1974, the firm will have more than 650 lawyers in 37 offices in 24 states as of Nov. 1. That lawyer count is triple the number on the Gordon & Rees attorney roster in 2000, the news release says.

The two new offices will focus on litigation, energy and real estate matters.
