Did Sandra Bullock get a “super-secret” divorce?

A story published Monday by the Austin American-Statesman suggested that was the case. The Travis County divorce decree had been sealed, the story said, as were the minutes that would record the sealing. The only documents available were the initial filing, made under “pseudonymous initials,” and some documents regarding out-of-state lawyers.

A day later, the court released several documents, although they were short on details, according to a story published late Tuesday by the Austin American-Statesman. The property split was decided in private meetings, and there is no alimony, the filings say.

When the American-Statesman asked about reasons for the late release of documents, the answers were “fuzzy,” the newspaper says. A visiting judge, Jon Wisser, said he signed an order to seal the case because both lawyers agreed, “and I honestly didn’t give it much thought.” A court clerk suggested there was a delay because documents had not been scanned into the system.
