Alleged Madam Asks to Ditch Attorney
For a second time, alleged D.C. madam Deborah Jeane Palfrey is claiming she can’t get along with her criminal defense attorney.
Palfrey told a Washington, D.C., federal judge in court papers that she and attorney Preston Burton have irreconcilable differences, the Washington Post reports. Burton apparently feels the same, having filed a motion under seal for leave to withdraw.
Palfrey says she would like her civil attorney, Montgomery Blair Sibley, to represent her. The colorful attorney was dubbed a “vexatious litigant” because of numerous divorce-related filings, ABAJournal.com noted in a prior post.
Previously, Palfrey asked to have public defender A.J. Kramer removed as her lawyer.
