Less than a year after planting its flag in Washington, D.C., with the expectation of establishing a 20-attorney office there in the foreseeable future, Fox Rothschild is halfway to that goal.

The 500-attorney Philadelphia-based firm today announced that an eight-attorney team from the Smith Currie & Hancock construction boutique is joining its Washington, D.C., office, reports the Legal Intelligencer in an article reprinted in New York Lawyer (reg. req.).

Their move, however, apparently will involve little, if any, packing of client files–Fox Rothschild will now occupy the Washington, D.C., offices formerly used by Smith Currie.

There is no word on what 55-attorney Smith Currie, which according to its website now has one lawyer in the nation’s capital, plans to do. It is headquartered in Atlanta.

Partner Dirk D. Haire will serve as a co-chairman of the construction practice group at Fox Rothschild and partner Reginald M. Jones will lead the firm’s new government contracts and procurements practice group.

A Fox Rothschild press release provides additional details.
