Chairman of Nixon re-election campaign in New Jersey in 1972, when he delivered a briefcase holding $200,000 from financier Robert Vesco to the Committee for the Re-election of the President. Granted immunity to cooperate with investigation into a scheme to help Vesco avoid an SEC inquiry. Law license suspended in New Jersey for three years.
