Stanford Law announces elimination of tuition based on family income
If you attend Stanford Law School and your parents have an annual household income at least 150% below the poverty line, tuition will be eliminated starting next year.
The plan was announced May 11 and follows a similar offering at Yale Law School, Reuters and the Stanford Daily report.
For financial aid, Stanford uses an age-based test to consider parent contribution. Parental resources are not considered for students age 29 and older, according to the school’s website. But that group of students who meet the independence requirements must provide parental data for tuition elimination consideration, a representative for the law school told the ABA Journal.
