An Illinois woman who won a date with a man that a radio station promoted as a “great” catch is now suing the station, claiming the man had a criminal history and assaulted her.

Filing under a Jane Doe pseudonym, the woman claims Waukegan, Ill., NextMedia station WXLC promoted the man on its “Win a Date with Travis” competition as a “great guy” who just couldn’t find the time to meet the right woman, the Chicago Tribune reports.

After winning the date, Doe claims she planned to go out on a date with the man at the Chicago House of Blues. But the man called her beforehand, saying he was too tired, and invited her to his home instead for pizza. Bob Baizer, who represents Doe, maintains his client was then drugged and raped.

Doe claims the station was negligent in failing to check the man’s record. He reportedly has been convicted twice of violating an order of protection taken out by another woman. The man pleaded guilty to criminal sexual abuse last week for the assault on Doe, the Tribune reports.
