WilmerHale Partner to Lead Justice Department Transition Team
Two Justice Department veterans who are now partners at large law firms will be leading the DOJ transition team for Barack Obama.
WilmerHale partner David Ogden will be heading the team, the Washington Post reports at its blog 44: Transition to Power. Jenner & Block partner Thomas Perrelli will be his deputy.
Ogden is co-chair of WilmerHale’s government and regulatory litigation practice group. He served as assistant attorney general for the Justice Department’s civil division in the Clinton administration and as chief of staff to then-Attorney General Janet Reno, the story says.
Perrelli is managing partner of Jenner & Block’s Washington, D.C., office. He served as counsel to Reno and as deputy assistant attorney general overseeing the unit that defends federal agencies in complex civil litigation. He also supervised the Justice Department legal team suing cigarette makers.
