What McKinsey Told White & Case

Implementing recommendations in a recent report by the McKinsey & Co. management consultants on its worldwide operations, White & Case is changing the management structure in its European offices.

The matrix of those in charge will now be organized by geographic region and global practice group, rather than simply representing the heads of specific offices within the firm, according to the Lawyer. “The aim is to promote greater global unity within practice areas rather than seeing offices operate as independent fiefdoms.”

The legal publication says McKinsey also suggested that White & Case could increase profits by “scaling back the partnership in unprofitable practices,” but the firm, at least so far, isn’t pursuing that option.

The firm’s planned pullout from Italy reportedly isn’t related to the McKinsey report.
