Well-known firm is growing again, will acquire 17-lawyer tech boutique
For the second time this year, a well-known northeastern and mid-Atlantic law firm is expanding by acquiring a specialized boutique.
As of Oct. 1, the latest addition for McCarter & English will be SorinRand, a 17-attorney East Brunswick, N.J., law firm that specializes in representing technology companies and venture capitalists, the New Jersey Law Journal reports.

In February, McCarter & English opened an office in Washington, D.C., by acquiring a 14-lawyer energy boutique there.
With more than 400 attorneys and a 170-year history of continuous practice, the Newark, New Jersey-based firm is one of the biggest and best-known in the state. It also has offices in Boston; Hartford and Stamford, Connecticut; New York City; Philadelphia; and Wilmington, Delaware.
