A former Texas Supreme Court judge and a well-known appellate attorney have joined forces to create a new boutique in Dallas.
Hankinson Levinger, which has six attorneys, is headed by former Justice Deborah Hankinson and Jeffrey Levinger, who previously was in charge of the appellate practice group at Carrington, Coleman, Sloman, & Blumenthal, the new boutique announces in a press release (PDF).
The other four attorneys include another former Carrington partner, Brett Kutnick, who will also be a partner at the new firm, and partner William Richard “Rick” Thompson and counsel Elana Einhorn and Kate Ross, all three of whom previously worked with Hankinson at an appellate firm in her name.

“Deborah and I bring almost 51 years of combined appellate experience to this new venture,” Levinger said in the release. “We’ve become known as lawyers’ lawyers, and we’re often hired by trial lawyers or their clients to develop the legal issues in a case before, during and after trial. Our objective is to represent clients effectively, creatively and efficiently, so we are known as the premier appellate boutique in the Southwest.”
