At least two former University of San Diego basketball players and an ex-assistant coach were named in an alleged point-fixing scheme, according to an indictment unsealed today.

The L.A. Now blog of the Los Angeles Times reports that federal prosecutors claim gamblers bribed players to fix basketball games in 2010 and 2011.

Thaddeus Brown, a former USD assistant coach, and former players Brandon Dowdy and Brandon Johnson were among the 10 indicted. Laura E. Duffy, the Southern District of California U.S. attorney, would not say how many games her office thought were fixed.

The investigation, dubbed “Hook Shot,” started a year ago and stemmed from a drug investigation, FBI agent Keith Slotter told the LA Times. According to Slotter, the alleged gamblers indicted were also indicted on marijuana distribution charges.
