An e-mail warning of a rooftop sniper on Tuesday led officials at the University of Montana law school to evacuate the law building and call in Missoula police.

Officers toted assault rifles and wore body armor, the Missoulian reports. They never found a sniper. Law school officials are investigating the source of the e-mail, sent to a law school faculty member.

Law school was not in session, but some students were inside the building studying for the bar exam, the story says.
