UK Court Rules WikiLeaks Founder Assange Should Be Extradited in Sex Case
WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange must be extradited to face sex crimes accusations in Sweden, a British judge has ruled.
Judge Howard Riddle said the Swedish extradition request was valid and reasonable, the Los Angeles Times reports. Assange is sure to appeal the ruling, the story says.
Assange has referred to the charges as “incredible lies,” the New York Times reports. He is charged based on the complaints of two women who say they agreed to have sex with Assange, but then withdrew their consent when he refused to wear a condom.
Assange remained impassive as the judge spoke. He was dressed in a blue suit, the same clothing he wore to previous court hearings, the New York Times says.
