President Donald Trump is reportedly talking to an impeachment lawyer who represented Bill Clinton about joining the legal team dealing with the special counsel probe.

The lawyer is Emmet Flood, a partner at Williams & Connolly, the New York Times reports in a story based on four anonymous sources.

Two sources told the Times that the discussions aren’t an indication of any concerns regarding the probe by special counsel Robert Mueller. Rather, Flood would help Trump “navigate his dealings with the Justice Department,” the article reports.

Flood wouldn’t replace lawyer Ty Cobb, who has produced documents for the probe and arranged for White House aides to meet with prosecutors. Cobb’s job is nearly complete, however, and he has told friends he doesn’t expect to remain in the job much longer, according to the sources.

The article does see some signs that Trump could be ready to make some changes to his legal team. The president has been asking advisers and friends what they think of Cobb, who has urged cooperation with Mueller, according to the Times sources.

The story was published on Saturday. On Sunday, Trump tweeted that the Times article was “a false story” and he is happy with his legal team.
