Blank Rome uses one agency to make arrangements for lawyers traveling on business.

So when the firm was deciding where to focus its latest expansion efforts, it sought input from the Lawyers Travel Service, co-chairman Alan Hoffman tells the Law & Finance blog of the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The travel agency reported that Houston was the most frequent travel destination for the firm’s lawyers. That resulted in an April announcement by the Philadelphia-based firm that it had hired a Texas lawyer and was looking for office space in Houston.

In March of last year, the firm opened a Los Angeles office with five partners that has since grown to 16 lawyers. Blank Rome is also looking to expand in Hong Kong and exploring the possibility of opening a Shanghai office, the Law & Finance article says.
