Top-Paid Partner at Freshfields Made About $5.27M Last Year, Filing Shows
Despite a dip in average profit per equity partner at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, the firm’s top-earning lawyer made about $5.27 million last year, a filing by the London-based firm’s limited liability partnership shows.
That compares to earnings of about $4.31 million for the firm’s highest-paid partner the previous year, according to Legal Week.
Meanwhile, a filing in December by the limited liability partnership of its Magic Circle rival Linklaters showed the top-paid partner there earned roughly $4 million in U.S. dollars for the 2008-2009 fiscal year, down significantly from the $5.43 million or so paid to the highest-earning Linklaters partner the previous year.
Freshfields said the $5.27 million pay tally for its top-earning lawyer includes retirement money as well as partnership earnings, the legal publication notes.
