Top Grossing Am Law Firms Get Local Spin
Newspapers are putting a local spin on American Lawyer’s latest list of top grossing firms.
The magazine’s survey found that most equity partners at the largest U.S. law firms are making profits of at least $1 million a year.
The Philadelphia Business Intelligencer noted which firms moved up in the rankings and which ones slid. The Chicago Tribune noted that 10 firms in the city made the list.
Meanwhile, a blog sponsored by D.C.’s Legal Times touted local firm Wiley Rein, which had $4.4 million in profits per partner, the highest figure in the history of the survey. Wall Street Journal’s Law Blog said 11 firms had more than $1 billion in revenues, and noted that the rule is for partners to “produce or perish.”
