Tomorrow a 'Lemonade Day' at Skadden?
If the weather outside is frightful, or even close to it, in New York City tomorrow, one major law firm will be implementing a new program to try to make the situation inside delightful: Lemonade Day.
Assuming the temperature at noon is 82 degrees or higher, lemonade and iced tea will be served to all comers in the cafeteria of Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom, according to a memo from Wally Schwartz, head of the firm’s New York office. The program kicks off tomorrow, the official first day of summer, and will continue until Sept. 21, reports the Wall Street Journal law blog.
In addition to promoting staff morale, Schwartz has not forgotten environmental concerns: “Please feel free to bring your own glass/cup,” his memo concludes, “in order to keep our ‘green initiative’ going strong!”
The firm initiated a “Hot Cocoa Day” program in January, in which the beverage was served from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on mornings when the temperature dipped to 30 degrees or below.
