Which charities or institutions do you donate money to, and why?
It’s the week after Thanksgiving, and we’ve made it through Black Friday, Cyber Monday—and Giving Tuesday, a global fundraising movement for nonprofit groups that has been promoted since 2012, the New York Times reports.
This week, we’d like to ask you (whether you participated in Giving Tuesday or not): Which charities or institutions do you support, and why? Do you prefer to give to institutions you know and trust—your schools, churches, local groups you volunteer with—or do you fund efforts around the world?

Posted by Jane: “Great timing. I had two client emails on Thanksgiving that I happened to see when checking my cell. Neither was an emergency, and I found myself somewhat annoyed. I didn’t respond until I was working again on Saturday, but I was annoyed to have my peace of mind interrupted. I tend to check my email continuously and respond either immediately or send a quick response saying I will respond later. I think I would be better off breaking this habit.”
