Texas PI Practice Opens LA Office
A 28-lawyer Texas personal injury firm is establishing an outpost in Los Angeles.
The Lanier Firm, founded by W. Mark Lanier in 1990, will initially focus three lawyers on its new LA office. They are: Lanier himself, who will head the office while continuing to practice in Houston, counsel Shepard Hoffman, a Dallas lawyer who is joining the firm, and associate Julie Drenner, who is moving to LA from Lanier’s office in Houston, according to the Houston Business Journal and the National Law Journal.
The firm opened a Manhattan office in 2005. It is particularly known for having won a huge asbestos verdict in 1998 and scoring several verdicts against Merck & Co. involving the prescription drug Vioxx.
