Suit Claims Heather Mills Undermined Publicist with Lies About Paul McCartney
A lawsuit filed by Heather Mills’ former public relations firm says the onetime wife of Paul McCartney undermined her publicist with lies and then failed to pay a $168,000 bill.
The suit was filed in Los Angeles superior court by public relations firm Parapluie, according to Courthouse News Service. The company’s CEO, Michele Elyzabeth Blanchard, maintains in the complaint that she explained to Mills how important it was to be truthful, to no avail.
“Mills constantly lied to plaintiff and the public, creating a false public image of herself and undermining plaintiff’s ability to properly represent Mills,” the complaint says. “From the outset, Michele Elyzabeth was made to believe that Paul McCartney was a cheap tyrant who was often a drunk and abusive husband. Michele Elyzabeth believed her client.” As a result, the suit says, Blanchard ended up leaking untrue stories to the press.
The suit also claims Blanchard offered Mills a deal to appear on Celebrity Apprentice, but it fell through after Mills demanded a guarantee that she would make the final cut.
A spokesman for Mills told the Daily Mail Online that Parapluie had first threatened to file a suit against Mills in 2008. “Their allegations were unsubstantiated, a lawsuit was never filed and the matter was subsequently dropped,” the spokesman said. “We are unaware of any new lawsuit nor any reason for one.”
