Stripper Says Fla. Appeals Judge Shielded Her Assets

A stripper who is a longtime friend of a Florida appellate court judge says he helped her shield her assets from judgment creditors, but now owes her money.

However, Judge Thomas E. Stringer Sr., 63, says he and 47-year-old Christy Yamanaka were business partners who purchased and sold a house in Hawaii as a joint venture, reports the Tampa Tribune.

The 2nd District Court of Appeal admits that he put their money in accounts in his name, but says this was because she had terrible credit, not to shield her assets. And he says her allegations now are just an attempt to scam him into paying her money he doesn’t owe, the newspaper explains.

“I am proud to have been a public servant for more than 30 years,” writes Stringer in an e-mailed statement. “I am hopeful that the citizens of this community will withhold judgment until all the facts are fully developed in the appropriate forum.”
