Contending that 136 clients have received “little or nothing in return” for their fees, the Missouri attorney general on Tuesday filed suit seeking a court order requiring a bankruptcy services firm to close and freezing its assets.

Also named as defendants by AG Chris Koster in the St. Louis Circuit Court fraud suit are current or former lawyers for Critique Services, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

They are: Robert Dellamano, Dean Meriwether and James Robinson, who are accused of misleading clients by promising to help them with their bankruptcies, the newspaper reports.

Owner Beverly Holmes Diltz and office manager Renee Mayweather are defendants as well, accused along with Critique itself of unauthorized practice of law.

A news release by Koster’s office provides more details about the suit, which alleges violations of the state’s Merchandising Practices Act.
