Served with process Tuesday in a family-law case, the respondent showed up at a Canadian courthouse Wednesday morning—holding a revving chainsaw, police say.
Sheriff’s officers at the family division of the Supreme Court of Newfoundland and Labrador Family Division saw him coming and prevented the unidentified 43-year-old from entering the St. John’s courthouse by locking the door, according to CBC News, the Canadian Press and the Telegram. The courthouse will be closed for the rest of the day.
Arrested by the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary, the man is now facing two weapons charges and is being held pending a Wednesday afternoon hearing.
