Serial stowaway attempter flies again, is arrested in Florida
A retired legal secretary who reportedly tried to make her way onto multiple California airline flights without a ticket last year, resulting in multiple arrests, is now in Florida.
Marilyn Hartman, 63, admittedly took a flight from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport to Jacksonville, Florida, over the weekend, reports the San Jose Mercury News.
By Monday, she had been arrested for felony fraud and misdemeanor trespassing, accused by the Nassau County sheriff’s office of checking into a resort hotel under a reservation in someone else’s name, reports the Star Tribune.
The Mercury News, relying on information from the Associated Press, says Hartman got the name from from a driver on the shuttle bus she took to the hotel, who asked her if she was that woman. Hartman then allegedly used the same name to check in. The claimed subterfuge came to light when the real individual later showed up to check in.
Hartman now has a complimentary room at the Nassau County jail, reports CNN.
The articles don’t include any comment from Hartman or her legal counsel. At a Tuesday court hearing, she was ordered held in lieu of $55,000 bond, reports the St. Augustine Record.
