A woman convicted of voluntary manslaughter for shooting her preacher husband is scheduled to be sentenced today in a Selmer, Tenn., courtroom.

Mary Winkler faces up to six years in prison if the judge finds no aggravating circumstances, according to the Jackson Sun. Winkler had claimed her husband physically and mentally abused her during their 10-year marriage. Her lawyers are seeking probation.

Winkler would be eligible for parole after serving 30 percent of her term, according to the Associated Press.

Winkler is also battling her husband’s parents for custody of the couple’s three daughters, according to the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal.
