A longtime secretary in a Pennsylvania district attorney’s office has been indicted on charges of perjury, false swearing and obstruction for allegedly interfering with the investigation of two robbery cases involving her grandson and providing information, including potential witness lists, to his defense counsel.

Vera Caroll, 59, is also accused of lying to a Montgomery County grand jury about the information she leaked, reports the Pottstown Mercury.

Carroll, who worked in the Chester office of the Delaware County District Attorney for a decade, has waived arraignment and pleaded not guilty.

She was allegedly recorded talking to her grandson on the telephone, while he was in jail, about confidential information she had provided to his defense lawyer.
