The national mean scaled score for the July 2022 Multistate Bar Examination, which consists of 200 multiple-choice questions, is 140.3, the National Conference of Bar Examiners announced Tuesday.
In comparison, the July mean scaled scores were 140.4 in 2021, 141.1 in 2019 and 139.5 in 2018, according to a news release from the NCBE.
According to the news release, there was a small number of examinees who took a full MBE in 2020, and comparability is “of limited value.”
Overall pass rates for July 2021 and 2022 may be similar because the mean scaled scores are close, said Rosemary Reshetar, the organization’s director of assessment and research, in the news release.
The overall bar pass rate for July 2021 was 64%, according to the Bar Examiner magazine, a publication of the NCBE.
