S.C. Lawyer Gets Prison Time for Stealing $2M from Client
A South Carolina lawyer who fled to Canada after reportedly taking more than $2 million from a real estate client received a two-year federal prison sentence today.
Michael T. Jordan was arrested on Aug. 3, 2007, when he tried to re-enter the United States through New York, the Charleston Post & Courier reports.
Jordan, of Beaufort, reportedly had tried to stage his own disappearance during a boat trip south of Charleston.
