Associates at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan will be paid special fall bonuses ranging from $2,120 to $32,908.
The law firm announced the bonuses in an internal memo, report Above the Law and Law.com, which broke the story. The amounts paid vary based on class year and billable hours.
The special bonuses will be paid in addition to year-end bonuses.
The bonuses are being paid following “a fabulous year,” said firm founder and partner John Quinn. He noted that special fall bonuses are unusual for the firm, although it has at times distributed additional bonuses, according to Law.com.
A $2,120 bonus will be paid to class of 2023 associates billing 2,000 to 2,099 hours per year. Bonuses will be “reduced proportionally” for those billing 1,800 to $2,000 hours. Recent hires will get a “separate new hire bonus.”
The highest bonus of $32,908 will be paid to the most senior associates who bill 2,700 or more hours.
