Prominent Partner Beaten in Street
The chairman of Dilworth Paxson’s labor and employment practice was found at around 8 p.m. Thursday in a southwest Philadelphia street near his Acura, badly beaten.
Police think that Gino Benedetti, who has chest and severe head injuries, may have been the victim of a botched robbery, reports the Legal Intelligencer in an article reprinted by New York Lawyer (reg. req.). He was apparently beaten, perhaps with a rock wrapped in a shirt.
James Hennessey, a partner at the firm, says Benedetti has regained consciousness and is recovering after neurosurgery Friday at a University of Pennsylvania hospital.
Police continue to investigate the crime.
