Pro-Trump lawyer L. Lin Wood posts addresses of ethics board members after he learns of bar probe

A lawyer who advanced stolen election claims on behalf of former President Donald Trump is asking an “Army of Patriots” to investigate the State Bar of Georgia’s disciplinary board.
In a Telegram post, lawyer L. Lin Wood Jr. said the bar has begun a disciplinary inquiry, and he wants his supporters to investigate his accusers, report the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and Law360.
Wood posted the names and addresses of the bar’s 18 disciplinary board members, which in at least four cases were home addresses. All but four of the board members are lawyers.
“More than 350,000 Telegram users viewed Wood’s post,” the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. “And within hours, his army was reporting its findings. One post listed intimate facts about a board member: her wedding date in 2019, her husband’s name, his work as a lawyer, the city where they live.”
Wood told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that the names and addresses were public information.
“Why are they so nervous about people investigating them?” he said. “Nobody’s harassing them. No one has called for them to be attacked or threatened. I would never do that.”
Wood said the state bar started the fight, “but I’m going to finish it.”
The State Bar of Georgia told CNN that the bar is proceeding with an inquiry under Bar Rule 4-104, but it cannot comment further. The rule deals with mental incapacity and substance abuse. Wood previously refused to take a mental health examination.
Wood has said his doctors have concluded that he is of sound mind, and he has not had any alcohol in eight years.
A Delaware judge had removed Wood from a defamation case last month, citing a “toxic stew of mendacity, prevarication and surprising incompetence” in election litigation outside Delaware. Wood has said he thinks the decision was political.
A defendant in another defamation case is trying to get Wood removed, citing social media posts in which Wood called former Vice President Mike Pence a traitor and a child molester, claimed that Pence and U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. were involved in discussions about murdering judges, and claimed that the late Justice Antonin Scalia was murdered.
