Nearly two weeks after the dismembered body of a 27-year-old Mercer University law graduate was found outside her home in Macon, Ga., police continue to search for evidence in the slaying, including parts of Lauren Giddings’ body.

They also await results of forensic tests that are expected to be “pivotal” in the case, a police spokeswoman tells the Baltimore Sun.

Giddings was last seen, prior to the discovery of her body June 30, in a restaurant surveillance video around 6:30 p.m. on June 25. She also sent an email from her apartment around 10:15 p.m. that night.

Although authorities haven’t revealed the content of the email, it has previously been reported that Giddings said in it she didn’t feel safe in her apartment, CNN’s Nancy Grace blog reports.

The Macon Telegraph also has a story.
