Two grief counselors were at the Atlanta office of Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker on Monday to help those who worked for the firm deal with the death of a secretary killed in a murder-suicide on Friday.

A private memorial service for the 25-year-old secretary, Raven Buckley, will be held at the firm today, according to the Fulton County Daily Report.

Atlanta managing partner Philip Marzetti told the legal publication that the counselors will be at the firm for as long as they are needed. A human resources official from Los Angeles also flew in to help out as the firm tried to make it easy for employees to share their grief.

“We’ve set up a number of places around the firm for employees to come and talk, have a doughnut, have a coffee.”

Police said Buckley was shot and killed outside the law offices by 30-year-old Jermaine Acevedo, an employee of a local temporary agency who was working in the law firm’s records department. Acevedo then killed himself.

Marzetti said Paul Hastings did a criminal background check on Acevedo and it was clear. “He had fine references and passed the background check with flying colors,” Marzetti the the Fulton County Daily Report.
