Patton Boggs is reportedly laying off lawyers and staffers
Patton Boggs has reportedly laid off both lawyers and staffers in a move that one partner described as “rightsizing.”
Reuters reports on the layoffs based on information from two sources inside the firm and two sources from outside. The number of layoffs is not known, but one source told Reuters that partners and associates will both be cut.
A partner briefed on layoffs in the litigation department told the wire service that he was aware of job losses in the firm’s New Jersey, New York and Washington, D.C., offices. The layoffs were based on productivity, he said. “I think the firm is just rightsizing,” he told the publication.
The firm is expected to reveal details in a meeting with partners today. “We have nothing formal to announce at this time,” a law firm spokesman told Reuters.
