Florida lawyer arrested in prostitution sting
An Orlando lawyer is one of 80 people who have been arrested in a prostitution sting.
Richard Sierra, 47, of Altamonte Springs, is a lawyer with the Orlando firm of Kosto & Rotella, the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Detectives say Sierra traveled to an undisclosed location to have a “girlfriend experience” with an undercover agent posting as a prostitute. He was arrested after trying to conduct a “pat down” of the agent, telling detectives afterward that he usually pats down prostitutes for wires.
Police arrested a total of 80 people during the four-day sting operation, including 24 on soliciting charges, 33 suspected prostitutes, 13 for aiding prostitution and 10 others on a variety of other offenses.
“Prostitution is not a victimless crime,” said Polk County, Fla., Sheriff Grady Judd, whose office conducted the undercover operation. “From the spread of disease and destruction of families to human trafficking, prostitution is bad for our community.”
