Man practicing open-carry robbed of his gun by armed stranger
Corrected: An Oregon man who was exercising his legal right to open-carry a firearm was robbed of the weapon last week.
Less than a day after William Coleman III purchased a Walther P22 pistol, the 21-year-old was talking with a cousin about the gun in the Portland suburb of Gresham. A stranger approached the two at about 2 a.m., asked for a cigarette, then pulled his own gun from his waistband and told Coleman to give him the weapon, KOIN reports.
The suspect fled on foot and is still being sought.
Walther handguns are familiar to James Bond fans as the brand the fictional spy carried in many of his movies, CBS News notes.
