Ogletree Deakins Opens in Boston
A national labor and employment boutique has opened a new office in Boston with four partners and expects to expand it soon.
To open its doors there, Ogletree Deakins Nash, Smoak & Stewart has brought in a three-partner team from Goulston & Storrs. Joshua Davis, Neil McKittrick and Deborah Hesford DosSantos will all now be shareholders at Ogletree, as will Mark Burak, who is joining the new Ogletree office from Morse, Barnes-Brown & Pendleton in Waltham, Mass., the firm reports in a press release (PDF).
The three partners’ departure from Goulston & Storrs was amicable, and the two firms plan to work together on future matters, reports the Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly in its Docket blog.
The four new partners will be joined in Boston by Charles Engeman, the founding shareholder of the Ogletree Deakins office in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, and additional hires are expected soon, according to the law firm.
“Boston is an important market for us. Many of our clients have operations in the New England area, and we needed an office in this region to accommodate their growing legal needs,” says managing shareholder Gray Geddie, in the press release.
The firm now has more than 430 lawyers in 34 offices throughout the United States.
