N.Y. Employment Law Firm Profiled as Countercyclical Small Business
The 28-lawyer New York law firm of Outten & Golden is adding three lawyers because of increased work representing employees moving in and out of jobs.
The New York Times profiled the law firm as part of a feature on small businesses that are thriving in the downturn.
The firm helps those who have been laid off and are seeking increased severance packages. It also advises employees moving to new companies about getting job details in writing and complying with noncompete agreements signed at their old workplaces.
The firm also is representing clients filing lawsuits for alleged violations of a federal law requiring companies to give 60 days’ notice before a plant closing or reduction in force.
