Latham & Watkins announced Thursday that it has opened an on-site health care clinic at its Los Angeles office and will be opening another in New York in 2020.
The clinic, called the LiveWell Center, will be managed by Johns Hopkins Medicine, the law firm said in a press release. The clinic will treat both lawyers and staff members in Los Angeles, as well as those visiting on firm business.
Law.com and Law360 have coverage.
The center will provide medical and preventive services that include care for minor illnesses and injuries, flu shots, travel immunizations, blood pressure and cholesterol screenings, blood work, counseling and well-being coaching, chronic disease prevention and management, and physical therapy.
The center will be staffed by an advanced registered nurse practitioner, two well-being counselors, two physical therapists and a registered nurse.
Most services will be free and won’t require insurance claims, Law.com reports. The clinic will operate during normal business hours, although some services such as counseling will be available after hours.
The medical personnel will be employed by Johns Hopkins or its subcontractors and affiliates, according to Law.com. Electronic medical records will remain private and separate from the law firm.
