Murder Victim Takes Photo of Gunman and Alleged Lookout, Leading to Suspects' Arrest
Seconds before he was shot to death on New Year’s Day outside a Manila restaurant, a Filipino politician reportedly took a family photograph.
Included in the image of his wife, daughter and mother-in-law, which is published by the Houston Chronicle, is a man standing behind a car at the left side of the frame pointing a gun straight at Reynaldo Dagsa, according to ABC News.
And, in profile on the right side of the image is another man who allegedly served as a lookout in the slaying of the 35-year-old Manila suburb councilman.
Aided by Dagsa’s camera, which the family provided to investigators, police immediately arrested the suspected gunman, Michael Gonzalez, and two alleged accomplices. One of the two arrested allegedly is the man at the right of the photo, the ABC article reports.
The city’s police chief, Jude Santos, said Dagsa is believed to have been targeted because he ordered the arrest of a car thief who is now out on bail, reports the Daily News.
