Morrison & Foerster Closes Orange County Office
Morrison & Foerster is closing its Orange County office in the wake of a decision by the head of the outpost to leap to Manatt, Phelps & Phillips.
Orange County managing partner Dean Zipser is moving to Manatt along with partner Thomas Umberg, the Recorder reports. The firm plans to serve Orange County clients with other offices.
MoFo’s Orange County office at one time had 50 lawyers, but the number had dwindled to 17 after several recent departures. A Manatt press release says the two lawyers will join the firm’s litigation division as partners in Orange County.
“Dean and Tom are well-known litigators and community leaders, both with impressive histories of public service,” said Ellen Marshall, administrative partner of Manatt’s Orange County office, in the press release.
