Michigan Attorney Abuzz About Bees
A Michigan lawyer doesn’t have to worry about finding a hobby to occupy her spare time. She and her domestic partner often are busy with the bees they keep on a 61-acre farm they own in Isabella County.
Attorney Toni Sessoms, who practices in Mt. Pleasant, harvested some 25 pounds of honey in her first year of beekeeping last year, reports the Detroit Free Press. But the avocation subsequently proved more challenging for Sessoms and her partner, Tammy Cingano, as their beginner’s luck ran out, and several queen bees and their followers decided to take up residence elsewhere.
So, at least for now, she plans to keep her day job: “There probably is money in honey, but not by novice beekeepers like us,” she tells the newspaper.
